Oil is the only resource that can solve all Montenegrin financial problems by 2024, according to Vladimir Popović, a Canadian expert and consultant on geophysics and oil research of Montenegrin origin.
He sent his project proposal to the Minister of Capital Investments, Mladen Bojanic, to develop the oil industry, the realisation of which could give Montenegro at least ten times more income from oil than from tourism in a very short time.
“All that needs to be done is to form a national oil company as the owner of the Montenegrin sea bed, bring six experts of oil inventors, plan a 3D program (3D geophysical research) across the entire area from Croatia to Albania, include a consortium of Eni-Novatek and Energean 3D programs in the joint program and register a company on the New York or some other stock exchange “, said Popović, Pobjeda daily writes.
Montenegro’s tourism industry currently accounts for 21% of the country’s GDP.
