Former ISIS recruiter, Bilal Bosnić, was released from prison on Friday morning after serving a seven-year sentence for public incitement to terrorist activities, recruitment of terrorists and organisation of a terrorist group, N1 reported.

Bosnić was perceived as an informal leader of the Wahhabi community in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and he recruited his disciples for the Islamic State’s terrorist units. Some of those followers left for Syria and Iraq to fight for terrorist organisations. On 5 November, 2015, the State Court of BiH found Bosnić guilty of inciting terrorism, sentencing him to seven years of imprisonment.

Before his apprehension, Bosnić used to live in Bužim, a municipality in northwestern BiH, where his family still resides. There, he established his cemaat, or ‘congregation’, a community of believers that operated outside the structures of the officially recognised Islamic Community in BiH, whose legitimacy he refused to recognise.
