The EU’s special envoy for the Belgrade-Priština Dialogue, Miroslav Lajčak, stated that the Brussels negotiations were key for Kosovo’s and Serbia’s European advancement and that the status quo was unsustainable.

Lajčak spoke at a joint news conference in Belgrade on Wednesday, after meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

“I have sent the same message to both Priština and Belgrade – that the EU members expected the dialogue on the comprehensive normalisation of relations between Serbia and Kosovo and about all open issues to continue constructively and in good faith. We are ready to bring the process to a successful conclusion, in as much as the two sides are ready,” said Lajčak.

Vučić stated that Serbia was dedicated to the dialogue with Priština and ready to continue it when invited to Brussels. ( |
