Lithuania’s defence ministry and armed forces are preparing 20 M113 armoured vehicles, 10 military trucks, and 10 demining SUVs to be given to Ukraine.
The equipment is worth about €15.5 million, the ministry wrote in a press release on Wednesday (25 May). Overall, Lithuania’s financial support for Ukraine has reached around €100 million so far.
“Coordinated support from us and the allies is a crucial factor for Ukraine’s victory and, after the victory, for defending its sovereignty,” said Defence Minister Arvydas Anušauskas.
Lithuania started shipment of military equipment ahead of Russia’s invasion at the end of February.
“Lithuania handed over its first support in armaments even before the start of the war, and now we are thinking about additional effective support that is critical for the Ukrainians,” Anušauskas said.
Lithuanian military support to Ukraine includes Stinger air defence systems, anti-tank weapons, body armour and helmets, 120 mm mortars, small arms, ammunition, thermal imagers, drones, anti drones, and surveillance radars.
