The coronavirus pandemic has not ended in Czechia and the trend in Prague is not looking positive, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has said, adding that a special cabinet meeting to discuss the situation will be held on Thursday.

Babiš stressed the need to continue the vaccination campaign and respect the measures aimed at curbing infections, especially because of the spread of new variants from other countries.

With the Delta variant now spreading across the country, Health Minister Adam Vojtěch will propose that people vaccinated with only one dose will have to take a negative COVID-19 test to prove they have not been infected.

People returning from their holidays will have to present a negative test when coming back to work and medical grade face masks will remain mandatory on public transport.
