According to the same source, the meeting is scheduled for 15:00, with the political side of the head of state, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the speaker of parliament, Ferro Rodrigues, and representatives of parties with parliamentary representation. The last meeting at Infarmed in Lisbon was held on 16 September, when Portugal was making marked progress in its vaccination rate and reducing the incidence and transmission rate of COVID-19. Friday’s meeting takes place when the process of vaccinating the over-65s and healthcare professionals with third doses is ongoing. Portugal is now experiencing a growth in both the incidence of the disease and the transmission indicator.
