PRAGUE – ECDC’s warning

The COVID-19 pandemic which has spread heavily in the Czech Republic and six other European countries: Malta, Spain, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Croatia, is a great concern for the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

Among these countries, there is a growing number of people seriously ill and hospitalised, while mortality is either rising or likely to rise rapidly in the near future.

The concerns, announced by the agency on Thursday, is based on the rising spread of infections among the elderly. (Ondřej Plevák | EURACTIV.cz)
