Serbian President Aleksandar VučIć congratulated new US President Joseph Biden, wished him good health and much success, and also invited him to come to Serbia, it was announced in Belgrade.

Vučić said he believed Biden would perform the presidential duties “with true dedication, inexhaustible energy, and a clear vision, which characterise your long political career and extensive experience as a statesman.”

“I am convinced that, with mutual respect and shared values, we will have in you a partner for the strengthening of political dialogue and economic cooperation,” Vučić wrote.

After the media declared Biden’s election victory last year, Vučić congratulated the new president-elect no earlier than the next day.

However, in that congratulatory message to Biden on Nov. 8, Vućić said he hoped “for the continuation of good cooperation with the US which Serbia had with Donald Trump,” adding that he was “very grateful” to the outgoing head of state for that.
