Only tourist destination in the EU. According to interior minister Davor Božinović, Croatia is currently the only EU member state that has a functioning tourism sector. Of the 104,782 people who entered Croatia between Wednesday (10 June) and Thursday (11 June), 49,463 were foreign tourists, which represents a 30% increase compared to the previous day.
Most of the tourists came from Slovenia (16,668), followed by tourists from Austria and German (9,488 and 8,239 respectively). Croatia currently only has 11 active COVID-19 cases.
Czechs, Hungarians, Austrians, Estonians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Poles, Slovenians, Germans and Slovaks, who do not have to prove their reason for entering Croatia, are to announce their arrival via the government’s Enter Croatia website to avoid queues at the border.
So far, 112,023 applications for 235,035 people were sent via the Enter Croatia website.
