Maria João Rodrigues speaks about her hopes for the new, Portuguese, #Eurogroup President, Mário Centeno. She explores Europe’s uncharted future in the digital revolution; Europe’s #SocialPillar; and art as a creative reference for political problem-solving.
As Vice President, Rodrigues is responsible for the Commission’s work programme and relations with socialist members of EU institutions and relations with National Parliaments. Previously, she was Minister for Qualifications and Employment of Portugal in the first government of Prime Minister António Guterres (1995–1997), and Professor of Political Economy, at ISCTE, the University Institute of Lisbon.
