The public consultation on Biomass action plan welcomes stakeholders’ recommendations for actions to support biomass and bioenergy markets and applications both at member state and at EU-25 level. Interested parties have until 31 March 2005 to fill in the online questionnaire and submit their contributions. The Biomass action plan contributes to the achievement of the EU’s goal of doubling the share of renewable energy from 6 per cent to 12 per cent by 2010. Increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the energy mix contributes to the Lisbon objective of becoming “capable of sustainable economic growth”.
