According to the Financial Times, it will also consider whether a close working relationship with Europe remains important to US interests. Meanwhile, Mr Kissinger has called upon the Bush administration to involve the international community and UN in post-war Iraq. He said US military preeminence is a "fact of life" in international affairs for the foreseeable future. But America can strive to translate its dominance into a systematic fostering of international consensus, he added. Meanwhile, German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder reportedly plans to use his meeting on 15 April with British Prime Minister Tony Blair to display Berlin's determination to move on from its role as a leading opponent of the Iraq war, senior officials said. The meeting comes amid growing signs that Berlin wants to normalise relations with both London and Washington.
