Abstract

This analysis focuses on the “clear and extremely risky” implications of the US’ Neo-Conservative strategy, generally associated with Vice President Cheney and Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld. According to the author, the nature and execution of Washington’s post-war plans is increasingly part of a public debate on both sides of the Atlantic. In Mr Spencer’s opinion, “The damage done in a few short months to America’s reputation around the world is quite extraordinary”.
