The European Commission released on Monday its 4th annual report on the application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, providing an overview of the main EU policy and legal developments in gender equality during the last year, as well as examples of policies and actions in Member States.

“It was exactly four years ago, on 3 May 2010 that in front of the Court of Justice in Luxembourg, all Commissioners made an oath on the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. That was for the 1st time that, not only the Commissioner for Justice or the Commissioner responsible for Fundamental Rights but the all college pledged to introduce the basic rules of the Charter into political action.” said EU Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding.
