Every four years, Special Olympics organizes the European Summer Games in a major European city. This year the games will be held in Antwerp between September 9 and September 20. 2,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities from 58 countries will compete in 10 Olympic Sports.
Special Olympics was founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver. The movement organizes sports activities for people with an intellectual disability.
