With CODE’s first public event held in Brussels on 22 May 2024, the technology coalition emerged as a serious new stakeholder in the Brussels digital, tech, and competition policy discussion.

Focused on principles of openness, CODE is seeking to promote greater understanding and support from policymakers for open and horizontal technology platforms, and to nurture discussions about the future of the European digital economy and the competitiveness of the European economy.

CODE also seeks to encourage discussion about what a positive scenario for the European digital economy in 2029 would look like.

In this Special Report, we look at the intricate dynamics of the global tech space, the role of AI and the capacity for open ecosystems to create the space for Europe’s businesses to flourish in the decade ahead.
