Norwegian minister: We won’t tax electric cars until 50,000 hit the roads

“Providing incentives for people to buy electric cars and use them, it’s very important for us,” aid Norwegian Transport Minister Ketil Solvik-Olsen in an interview with EURACTIV.

“Cars in general are very expensive in Norway, because of taxes, so a good way to promote electric cars is to take away the taxes. Until 50,000 electric cars are on the roads, there won’t be any taxes,” he added.
