Free movement of pets ‘of utmost importance’ to Commission

250,000 dogs and cats travel from the UK to the EU every year. But how important is this issue in the Brexit negotiations?

Asked by euractiv.com’s James Crisp whether the Brexit negotiations would prioritise the free movement of British pets in the European Union, European Commission Spokesperson Alexander Winterstein told Crisp that “the fate of dogs and cats – their free movement and other aspects – is of the utmost importance”.
