Tusk: we are prepared for this negative scenario

Speaking to the press on Friday morning (24 June), Donald Tusk, president of the European Council, said that he wants to “reassure everyone that we are prepared also for this negative scenario”.

The former Polish premier admitted that the outcome was not what the European Union wanted, and that “there’s no way of predicting all the political consequences of this event, especially for the UK”.

Tusk added that despite an upcoming Brexit, the remaining 27 members of the European Union are “determined to keep our unity as 27”.
