ASD Convention 2014

The AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe held its flagship annual event in Prague, on the eve of the European elections. Together with high level representatives of EU institutions, Agencies and national governments we took stock of the achievements of the past legislature and reflected on ways to further improve cooperation in the next one, focusing on European industrial policies and the competitiveness of our sectors.

Obama arrives in Brussels for G7 meeting

US President Barack Obama arrived in Brussels on Wednesday afternoon for a meeting with the 7 world's leading industrialised nations. For the first time in 17 years, the G7 will meet without Russia, leaving President Vladimir Putin out of the talks in retaliation for his seizure of Crimea and Russia's role in destabilising eastern Ukraine.

Strengthening European Prosperity and Competitiveness

Today, more than one person in every thousand European citizens works in the European Aerospace and Defence Industries. But global competition is increasing and the question is; Will Europe be able to keep up the good performance also tomorrow? Now is the time for the European Aerospace and Defence community, I mean Industry AND policy makers, to engage in a constructive debate. A debate on common strategies… Strategies that can be converted into investments for the future… A future where prosperity and competitiveness still become reality.
