Boardrooms need quota for women, says EU’s Reding

The European Commission said on Monday it's working on a new law to get more women into top management jobs in Europe. Commissioner for Justice Viviane Reding launched a public consultation aimed at getting solutions to address the gender imbalance. Binding quotas might be one of them. Only around one out of seven board members in Europe's top companies are currently women. Commissioner Reding said that at this current rate, it would take more than 40 years to reach significant equality.
