Germany has made no progress in the fight against corruption in the past year, according to Transparency International. In the German context, corruption usually takes the form of party donations. EURACTIV Germany reports.
The UK’s Electoral Commission said on Tuesday (18 June) Nigel Farage’s Brexit party must account for all donations it has received since it was set up in March because it was open to a "high risk" of fraudulent donations.
The financial statements of German political parties for 2017 once again demonstrated that business is particularly generous during elections, with the Union of CDU and CSU benefitting in particular. Critics argue that these donations distort democracy. EURACTIV Germany reports.
